2. About PNut
PNut is a mobile application that helps users identify common food allergens in product ingredients by using AI-powered image analysis. The app supports 40+ languages and provides instant, color-coded safety indicators based on your allergen preferences. The app is developed and provided by Sufiyan Yasa.
3. Purpose & Accuracy
PNut uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI Vision API) to interpret ingredient labels in any language and detect potential allergens. Results are for informational purposes only and are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
While we strive for accuracy, AI analysis may not always be 100% correct. Users should:
- Always read actual product labels carefully
- Verify ingredients with manufacturers when in doubt
- Consult with healthcare professionals for medical advice
- Not rely solely on the app for life-threatening allergy decisions
PNut is an assistive tool, not a substitute for due diligence and professional medical guidance.
4. Use of the App
You agree to use PNut responsibly and lawfully. You must not:
- Misuse, reverse-engineer, copy, or modify the app or its data
- Use the app for any unlawful or fraudulent purposes
- Attempt to bypass subscription limits or restrictions
- Share your account or subscription with others
The app is for personal, non-commercial use only.
5. Subscriptions & Free Tier
Free Tier: Users receive a limited number of scans per week. The free tier resets weekly at midnight.
Premium Subscription: Unlock unlimited scans, priority support, and additional features. Subscriptions are managed via the Apple App Store and can be canceled anytime through your App Store settings.
Billing: Subscription fees are charged through your Apple ID. Prices may vary by region. Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
Refunds: Managed by Apple according to their refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.
6. Data & Privacy
Images you scan are processed securely by OpenAI's Vision API to detect allergens. We do not store your scanned images on our servers after analysis. Your allergen preferences are stored locally on your device.

7. Allergen Detection & Common Allergens
PNut is designed to detect common allergens including, but not limited to:
- Gluten (wheat, barley, rye)
- Dairy (milk, lactose, casein, whey)
- Peanuts
- Tree nuts (almonds, walnuts, cashews, etc.)
- Soy
- Eggs
- Fish
- Shellfish
The app may not detect all allergens or rare ingredients. Users are responsible for verifying all ingredients.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
PNut is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Accuracy of allergen detection - We do not guarantee the app will detect all allergens or that results are accurate
- Completeness - The app may fail to identify allergens present in products
- Fitness for a particular purpose - The app may not be suitable for your specific allergy needs
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation - The app may malfunction, crash, or provide incorrect results
- Current information - Product formulations change and the app cannot detect such changes
We make no guarantees that the app will meet your specific needs or be completely accurate. AI technology has inherent limitations and may make mistakes.
9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
a) Exclusion of Damages: IN NO EVENT SHALL SUFIYAN YASA BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Allergic reactions, anaphylaxis, or other adverse health events
- Personal injury, illness, or death
- Medical expenses or treatment costs
- Incorrect allergen detection or missed allergens
- Decisions made based on the app's results
- Lost profits, data, or business opportunities
- Property damage of any kind
b) Damage Cap: OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY AND ALL CLAIMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY DOLLARS ($50 USD), WHICHEVER IS LESS.
c) Assumption of Risk: YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE APP IS AN INFORMATIONAL TOOL ONLY AND YOU USE IT ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. You are solely responsible for verifying all ingredient information independently.
d) Jurisdictional Limitations: Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Sufiyan Yasa and PNut from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the app - Including any decisions you make based on app results
- Your violation of these Terms - Any breach of these Terms & Conditions
- Your violation of any rights - Violation of rights of another person or entity
- Health issues - Any allergic reaction, illness, injury, or health issue you experience
- Reliance on results - Your reliance on app results without verifying ingredients independently
- Third-party claims - Any claims brought by others related to your use of the app
This indemnification obligation will survive termination of these Terms and your use of the app.
11. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.
a) Good Faith Negotiation: Before initiating any formal dispute resolution, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting support@sufiyanyasa.com. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days.
b) Binding Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or use of the app shall be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except you may assert claims in small claims court if your claims qualify and the court has jurisdiction.
c) Arbitration Rules: Arbitration shall be conducted by a neutral arbitrator under internationally recognized arbitration rules (such as UNCITRAL, ICC, or similar body appropriate to your jurisdiction). The arbitration may be conducted remotely via video conference. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.
d) CLASS ACTION WAIVER: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AGREE TO BRING CLAIMS ONLY IN YOUR INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, REPRESENTATIVE, OR PRIVATE ATTORNEY GENERAL ACTION. There will be no right or authority for any claims to be arbitrated or litigated on a class action basis or in a purported representative capacity.
e) Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia and/or the laws of your jurisdiction, whichever provides greater consumer protection. To the extent permitted by law, the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) shall not apply.
f) Regional Variations:
- EU/UK Users: You retain all mandatory consumer rights under EU/UK consumer protection laws, which cannot be waived by these Terms.
- US Users: Disputes may be resolved under the Federal Arbitration Act, and venue shall be in your state of residence or remotely.
- Other Jurisdictions: Local mandatory consumer protection laws shall apply where they provide greater protection than these Terms.
g) Opt-Out Right: You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to support@sufiyanyasa.com within 30 days of first using the app. Your notice must include your name, location, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of this arbitration agreement.
12. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of PNut, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, are the property of Sufiyan Yasa and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Material changes will be notified through the app or via email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to PNut at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device.
